Meet the DREAM Intern '14

Hi Dreamers,

We hope your summer is off to a great start.  The D.R.E.A.M. staff is recovering from a weekend of sun, barbecues, and beaches.  But our work to solve the financial literacy crisis across the country continues! For the second consecutive summer, we have a summer intern that will be assisting us and leading initiatives to help grow our organization and serve more students. Today, it is with great excitement that we introduce our summer intern, Giancarlo R. Sanchez.

Giancarlo Sanchez will be serving as our Management Associate Intern supporting the co-founders and working with our Financial Empowerment: 101 program. He will also serve as a liaison to some our most esteemed partner organizations.

Giancarlo is a rising junior in the School of Arts & Sciences at Boston College. He is currently working towards a Bachelors degree in Economics with a minor in African Studies. Giancarlo was also born and raised in Harlem, New York where he developed an awareness for financial literacy and educational equity.

Mr. Sanchez's understanding for an equal and proper education has transcended into his wealth of service and extra-curricular activities. Nevertheless he's lead various service projects abroad in the Caribbean and domestically in states with very low literacy rates where his primary focus revolves around the economics of inequality. He also serves as a mentor to college underclassmen through student run organizations with hopes of ending both the education and wealth gaps in the U.S. and he is a strong believer in giving back to his communities.

In addition, Giancarlo is a 2012 alumnus of Cardinal Hayes High School and the Liberty LEADS program.

Throughout the summer you will see posts from Giancarlo chronicling his summer experience and giving an inside look to a "day in the life" of a financial literacy crusader! Please give our intern a warm welcome into the D.R.E.A.M. family.

Stay Cool,

The D.R.E.A.M. Team
