Meet the D.R.E.A.M. Interns '13

Hi Dreamers,

As you are aware, this summer we hired our first internship class. After a grueling recruiting process, two individuals stood out amongst the pack due to their puritan work ethic, understanding of the importance of financial literacy education, and career potential.  Accordingly, we extended offers to both individuals and were delighted when they accepted the opportunity to join the D.R.E.A.M. Team. Today, it is with great excitement that we introduce our two summer interns, Ms. Shani Paul and Mr. Edward Makinde!

Ms. Shani Paul, who serves as our Marketing & Public Relations intern, is a rising sophomore at Pomona College in Claremont, California. She is majoring in Media Studies and brings her passion for media, communications, and technology to the D.R.E.A.M. Team to help expand our brand and online presence. Shani is a native New Yorker and graduate of Brooklyn Friends High School. Notably, Shani participated in and completed the World of Money summer camp during her high school tenure which underlines her understanding of the importance of financial literacy education. Shani also enjoys traveling and looks forward to an exciting summer of working on many new initiatives for D.R.E.A.M.

 

Mr. Edward Makinde, who serves as our Management Associate intern, is a rising junior at Gettysburg College where he is pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science. Edward was born in the Bronx, NY (same neighborhood as co-Founder, Jaleni Thompson) and attended Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York and is an alumnus of Prep for Prep.  Edward believes that being well versed in financial linguistics is important in today's volatile economic environment and grasping this ability at an early age is very advantageous. A fun fact about Edward, growing up as a native New Yorker his favorite football team is the New York Giants. He looks forward to an exciting summer under the tutelage of the D.R.E.A.M. Co-Founders.
